Depression

This page contains a discussion of depression (its sources and treatment).

What is Depression?

Depression is a physical, emotional, mental, social and/or spriritual manifestation of the grieving process by which one comes to terms with (that is, reconciles themselves to) the fact that they were previously living under the weight of incorrect knowledge of how things really are.  They then begin to grieve the "loss" of the previous way of life; and thus become depressed.  Again, this can have physical, emotional, mental, social and spriritual manifestations.  How long its treatment will take depends on the diligence and honesty of the individual; as well as the rate at which the particular individual is able to process change in their life.  These manifestations will gradually diminish as the individuals takes hold of a correct understanding of their situation, lets go of the incorrect ways of thinking and behaving and walks in the light of the truth.

For example, depression does not result from being un-reconciled with God; but, rather, it comes when the individual comes to the realization that they are un-reconciled with God.  Depression can result from the realization that one is not reconciled with another person or even the true nature of one's self.
