Behold The Power of One
Unity is not merely a "nice idea"; it is a biblical mandate:
- One God - "One of the teachers of religious law was standing there listening to the debate. He realized that Jesus had answered well, so he asked, “Of all the commandments, which is the most important?” Jesus replied, “The most important commandment is this: ‘Listen, O Israel! The Lord our God is the one and only Lord. And you must love the Lord your God with all your heart, all your soul, all your mind, and all your strength.’ The second is equally important: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’ No other commandment is greater than these.” - Mark 12:28-31
- One Savior
- "For there is no other God but me, a righteous God and Savior. There is none but me." - Isaiah 45:21
- "All glory to him who alone is God, our Savior through Jesus Christ our Lord. All glory, majesty, power, and authority are his before all time, and in the present, and beyond all time! Amen." - Jude 1:25
- One Spirit - "Some of us are Jews, some are Gentiles, some are slaves, and some are free. But we have all been baptized into one body by one Spirit, and we all share the same Spirit." - 1 Corinthians 12:13
- One Mind
- "I appeal to you, dear brothers and sisters, by the authority of our Lord Jesus Christ, to live in harmony with each other. Let there be no divisions in the church. Rather, be of one mind, united in thought and purpose." - 1 Corinthians 1:10
- "Then make me truly happy by agreeing wholeheartedly with each other, loving one another, and working together with one mind and purpose." - Philippians 2:2
- "Finally, all of you should be of one mind. Sympathize with each other. Love each other as brothers and sisters. Be tenderhearted, and keep a humble attitude." - 1 Peter 3:8
- One Body - "Just as our bodies have many parts and each part has a special function, so it is with Christ’s body. We are many parts of one body, and we all belong to each other." - Romans 12:4,5
- One Faith - "There is one Lord, one faith, one baptism, and one God and Father, who is over all and in all and living through all." - Ephesians 4:5,6
- One High Priestly Prayer for Unity - “My prayer is not for the world, but for those you have given me, because they belong to you. All who are mine belong to you, and you have given them to me, so they bring me glory. Now I am departing from the world; they are staying in this world, but I am coming to you. Holy Father, you have given me your name; now protect them by the power of your name so that they will be united just as we are." - John 17:9-11
- One Day ...
- "When Enoch was 65 years old, he became the father of Methuselah. After the birth of Methuselah, Enoch lived in close fellowship with God for another 300 years, and he had other sons and daughters. Enoch lived 365 years, walking in close fellowship with God. Then one day he disappeared, because God took him." - Genesis 5:21-24
- "May the grace of the Lord Jesus be with God’s holy people". - Revelation 22:21
